ExplodingBoy has been active in the local Albany music scene since 1992, playing in several bands such as Dirty Crayon, Three Black Hats, Whisky & Spite, as well as Duane Beer's projects Trauma School Dropouts and Nogoodnix, all from birth to finish. Has also been playing guitar and a singer/songwriter since '88.

Musical inspirations along the way have been an eclectic mix over the years, starting with the obligatory early 80's metal, drifting to Led Zepplin and The Doors, then Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Violent Femmes, Pixies, Concrete Blonde, Sousix & The Banshies, etc… then branching out in all directions from Black Uhuru, Frank Sinatra, James Brown, John Coltrane, and New Model Army. Tom Waits and Nick Cave have been notable influences and still remain so. Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Carlos Santana were the earliest main influences on my guitar playing, which has also branched out as well.
